Some of our experiences
Collapse - Brooklyn, NY. A 4th alarm gas explosion. A propane cylinder exploded in the basement of a plumbing supply store, killing several people and injuring numerous. Two people were trapped and rescued in the adjoining building.
Harlem collapse Members of Rescue 3 survey the damage from the interior collapse of a 5 story tenement that was being renovated on the first floor. Interior bearing columns were removed, causing the entire center of the building to fail.

A 5-story commercial building in Puerto Rico, heavily damaged by an interior gas explosion. Over 60 people were killed in the insuing blast.

Collapse - doing a quick search of an area that has been determined to have a victim located by canine search. The victim was confirmed.


A workman in the middle of the day, installing a cell phone antenna on top of a water tower in Manhattan, falls and is severely injured. Members of Rescue 3 lower the victim down to a waiting ambulance, with a tender.


The injured workman being initially lowered to the ground almost 16 stories high. John O'Connell is lowered over the side with the victim, to clear the basket from any guide wires.
